Adoption Process

Our Adoption Process helps place our Cobberdogs in loving homes where I know they will be safe and able to live a healthy, happy life.

  • Applications

Please apply to reserve a puppy on our Reservation/Application page. Our application is in-depth and is designed to place our wonderful puppies in the right home that is the best fit for them as well as the puppy. Applicants will be notified via email after a preliminary review of their request. A Non-Refundable $500 deposit is required at time of application. The total cost of a puppy is $3500 (plus MA sales tax).  Should your application not be accepted at the time of review, your deposit will be refunded immediately.  If you reservation is accepted the deposit remains non-refundable.

  • Announcement

Accepted applicants will receive an announcement via email that their puppy is coming about a week before the litter is born.  We will tell you the size of the parents, expected colors and you can tell us if you would like to participate in that litter or not.  Once their puppies are born we will send a birth announcement to those that wanted to participate in the litter.   A $1500 second deposit is required at the time of the announcement to secure your spot in the litter

  • Puppy Selection

At 4 weeks of age, we will send you some helpful tips to start preparing for your new family member, a recommended supplies list (which you can also find on this site at, an email to schedule your 6-week litter visit and puppy pick up at 8 weeks and a final invoice for the remaining $1500. We will select your perfect puppy at approximately 7 weeks of age based on your application and the results of the temperament testing. Puppies are allocated by me to the family I think they will do the best with based first and foremost on their temperament and then on everything else so if you have to have a certain gender or color, you may have to wait until another litter if I can’t allocate the puppy based solely on temperament.  The extra work and in some cases, wait,  is in the best interest of your family, as well as the puppy.

  • Health & Wellness

Because health is a great concern, your puppy will have any necessary shots, a microchip, and their first veterinary appointment with a health certificate prior to coming to your home.

  • Ready for their New Home

Your puppy will come home at approximately 8 weeks of age along with medical records, a veterinarian’s health certificate, a microchip and, a blanket with the littermates’ scent. You will also be given puppy training information. Picking up your puppy is set by appointment only. If you are local we will set a time for you to pick up your new puppy. We can also hand deliver puppies weighing less than 20 pounds via commercial flight or private plane if you’re within 300 miles of Massachusetts.  You will need to call us in advance to discuss additional fees and scheduling.

  • Lifetime Support

We are here for you with a lifetime of support.
