Our Process

Please apply to reserve a puppy on our Reservation/Application page. Our application is in-depth and is designed to place our wonderful puppies in the right home that is the best fit for them as well as the puppy. Applicants will be notified via email after a preliminary review of their request. A non-refundable $500 reservation fee is required at the time of application. The total cost of a puppy is $3500 (plus MA sales tax).

Accepted applicants will receive an announcement via email that their puppy is coming about a week before the litter is born.  We will tell you the size of the parents, expected colors and you can tell us if you would like to participate in that litter or not.  Once their puppies are born we will send a birth announcement to those that wanted to participate in the litter.   A $1500 second deposit is required at the time of the announcement to secure your spot in the litter

At 4 weeks of age, I will send you the final invoice of $1500, some helpful tips to start preparing for your new family member, a recommended supplies list (which you can also find on this site at https://cobberdogsrus.com/recommended-supplies/), an email to schedule your 6-week litter visit and puppy pick up at 8 weeks.

We will select your perfect puppy at approximately 7 weeks of age based on your application and the temperament testing results. I allocate puppies to the family I think they will do the best with based first and foremost on their temperament and then on everything else so if you have to have a specific gender or color, you may have to wait until another litter if I can’t allocate the puppy based solely on temperament.  The extra work and in some cases, wait, are in the best interest of your family, as well as the puppy.

Because health is a great concern, your puppy will have any necessary shots, a microchip, and their first veterinary appointment with a health certificate prior to coming to your home.

Your puppy will come home at approximately 8 weeks of age with medical records, their first DA2PP vaccine, a veterinarian’s health certificate, a microchip, and a blanket with the littermates’ scent. You will also be given puppy training information. Picking up your puppy is set by appointment only. If you are local we will set a time for you to pick up your new puppy. We can also hand deliver puppies weighing less than 20 pounds via commercial flight or private plane if you’re within 300 miles of Massachusetts.  You can call us in advance to discuss additional fees and scheduling.  If you would like to have your puppy get a head start on training we are now offering a board/train option from 8-12 weeks where we will place the puppy with one of our experienced trainers and they will work on getting them started with crate, house and basic training.  The board/train option is $500 per week and we offer 1-4 weeks of training.  We need to know that you want that option when you commit to your litter so we can schedule the training in advance.
